KISSIMMEE, Fla. – With a fanfare of music and a blast of confetti, Newmar this morning unveiled the highlight of its 50th anniversary 2018 model line called the New Aire.
Some 300 dealers gathered at the Gaylord Palms Resort applauded the small motorhome.
Much of the New Aire was designed with the results of a recent study conducted in coordination with Element Three in mind, showing what functions, products and amenities the next generation of RVers wants.
Among things the study found is that Millennials want to quickly and easily connect to the Internet. The study found this is more important to them than price or fuel economy. They want to be able to remotely monitor their homes. They like to work remotely and travel in larger groups.
“It’s an entirely new motorhome brand with a very familiar name,” said John Sammut, Newmar vice president of sales and marketing. “Over the past three or four years, there has been a growing demand in the Class A market for shorter and smaller diesel motorhomes – motorhomes that are easy to get into and drive without sacrificing all of the luxury features and amenities offered in luxury motorhome products. Our company sales of 34- to 36-foot motorhomes have grown over the past few years. Newmar feels that this trend will only gain momentum over the next several years.”
New Aire has been in development for about two years. Designers completed their work with a Class A diesel motorhome under 34 feet in length and 2 inches shorter in height, making it the lowest profile vehicle Newmar produces.
The entry provides a first step that is only 4 inches off the ground.
New Aire will come in two floorplans, the 3341 and 3343. The most significant difference in the two is the 3343 has the toilet and shower together on one side and the 3341 splits the bathroom down the middle on either side of the coach.
