FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions.

RV Owners

Q: What is paint protection film and how does it work?

A: Paint protection film (PPF) is a clear, virtually invisible urethane film that bonds to your RV's painted surfaces and creates a physical barrier between your finish and the road. It absorbs rock chips, road debris, UV rays, and everyday wear. Once installed, it's nearly undetectable and doesn't alter the appearance of your RV.

Q: Is Diamond Shield PPF only for new RVs?

A: Not at all. PPF can be applied to any RV, regardless of age, as long as the paint is in good condition. If you've been thinking about protecting your rig and just haven't gotten around to it, it's not too late.

Q: What's the difference between Nano™, Peak™, and Standard PPF?

A: All three are professionally installed, fully warranted, and built to Diamond Shield's quality standard. The difference is in performance level and warranty length: Nano™ uses patented nano-infusion technology that drives protection through the entire film, not just the surface. It's the most stain-resistant, most conformable, and most durable film we offer. It has a 10-year warranty. Peak™ features a high-gloss hard coat surface finish with excellent weather and stain resistance, plus a repositionable adhesive that makes for a clean install. It has a 7-year warranty. Standard is a reliable self-healing film with a low surface energy top coat that resists dirt and water accumulation. It has a 5-year warranty.

Q: How do I care for my Diamond Shield PPF after installation?

A: PPF is low maintenance, but a little regular care goes a long way: Wipe bugs and road grime off as soon as possible. Bug acids can stain film if left sitting. Wash monthly using an automotive wash and a soft cotton or lambswool mitt. Avoid abrasive brushes or compounds. Wax quarterly with a liquid or spray wax for an extra layer of protection and to keep the film looking its best.

Q: My PPF is yellowing, cracking, or peeling. What should I do?

A: That's a sign your film has reached the end of its life and may need replacement. Our certified technicians handle removal safely using specialized tools and techniques. Give us a call to schedule.

Q: How long does PPF installation take?

A: It depends on how much of the RV you're protecting. A full Class A front end installation typically takes one day. Additional coverage areas like baggage doors and cab tops will take longer. We’ll provide you with a realistic timeline when you schedule your appointment.

RV Dealers

Q: How does Diamond Shield work with RV dealerships?

A: We partner with dealers to offer Diamond Shield PPF as a point-of-sale add-on for customers purchasing new or pre-owned RVs. We handle installation coordination, product training, and after-sale customer care to support your team. If a customer needs service down the road, they call us, not you.

Q: What does the dealer partnership process look like?

A: It starts with a conversation. We'll learn about your dealership, your customer base, and your current protection offerings, and we'll put together a program that fits. From there, we handle technician scheduling, installation, and ongoing customer support. Reach out to our team to get started.

Q: Do you offer training for dealer sales staff?

A: Yes. We provide product training for sales teams so your staff can speak confidently about Diamond Shield's products, warranty tiers, and differentiators when talking to customers.

Q: How does Diamond Shield integrate into an OEM production line?

Our technicians are experienced in active production environments and work at your pace and on your schedule. The goal is seamless integration with zero disruption to your line.
